Karen Jean Jensen, 83, of the Town of Clayton, died Sunday, August 25, 2024. She was born to the late Joseph and Mildred (Buss) Stippich on June 12, 1941, in Watertown, Wisconsin, where she grew up on a family farm.

Karen worked as a nursing assistant in Waterloo, Wisconsin from 1960 – 61. In 1962 she earned a diploma in Nursing from the Evangelical Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing. From 1962 until 2003, she was an RN at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute, and was a nursing supervisor from 2003 until her retirement in 2006. On December 26, 1970, Karen married Jack J. Jensen at the Allenville Community Baptist Church in Allenville, WI, and since then she has been a member of the church, where she had served as the Sunday School Superintendent. Along with her nursing career, Karen also helped Jack run the Jensen family farm. For many years Karen was involved in 4-H and she enjoyed gardening, cross-stitch, knitting, reading, and spending time with her family and her dog. She loved knitting and made scarves and dish cloths for family members as well as for children at Catalpa Health and many other charitable organizations. Knitting brought her joy and comfort right up to the time of her passing.

Karen is survived by five children and eleven grandchildren: Jason (Julie) Jensen and children Calvin, Grant, Christian, Henry, Max, Stella, of Madison, WI; Joelle (Andrew) Fellinger and children Noah, Sophie, Elise, of Hortonville, WI; Jonathan (Kristina) Jensen and children Samuel, Sophia, of Wild Rose, WI; Janelle Jensen, of Greenville, WI; Jessica Jensen, of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by three brothers and a sister, Neal Stippich (Mary), of Beaver Dam, WI; Eileen (John) Medenwaldt, of Waterloo, WI; Dale (Judy) Stippich, of Reeseville, WI; Dan (Cindy) Stippich, of Juneau, WI; other relatives and friends; and her dog, Penelope.

Along with her parents, Karen was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack J. Jensen, on October 7, 2008; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alvin and Norma Jensen; and a brother-in-law, Doug Jensen.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 7 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Eisley officiating. A private inurnment of Karen’s and Jack’s cremated remains will be in the Clayton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for the Allenville Community Baptist Church.

i meet Karen at Dimensions Living in Grand Chute WI. She was a very loving and caring lady; she was very proud of her children and Penelope. My thoughts and prayer are with the family of her loss.
