Marie Kress, 82, of the Town of Poygan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was born March 17, 1942, to the late Harold and Agnes (Brault) Wiesner. On October 24, 1964, Marie married Florian “Butch” Kress at St. Paul Catholic Church in Manitowoc.

Marie enjoyed watching the sunsets over Lake Poygan, UTV rides, bird watching, trips to the casino and watching the Badgers, especially their 5th quarter marching band. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  

Marie is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Butch Kress; daughters, Lisa Kress, Linda Kress, Karla (Craig) Schultz, Cheryl Holicky; grandchildren, Brittney (Brandon) Reinl, Mick Marske, Kelsey Schultz, Holden Holicky, Karina Schultz; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Paisley and Grayson. Also surviving her are her brother Tom (Chris) Wiesner; and her dog, Duke; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Marie was also preceded in death by a sister, Sue Hawley; and an infant son, Michael.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Paul Vidmar officiating.
