Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Shirley Lee Milner of Omro, 88 years young, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born February 26, 1936, to the late Edwin and Grace (Vander Hoof) Christian. Shirley attended and graduated from Winneconne High School. On September 1, 1956, Shirley married David E. “Pep” Milner Sr. They were married for 60 years. Dave preceded her in death in March 2017.
Shirley had various part time jobs throughout her life, but her main focus was on her family, having been blessed with 10 children. She was an excellent cook and baker, sponsoring many holiday celebrations for her ever-growing family. She was always quick to lend a helping hand by sharing a meal with those in need. Shirley was a talented seamstress making anything from special curtains to wedding dresses. She enjoyed crocheting as well and produced baby blankets and afghan’s that were enjoyed by many. Shirley will be remembered for her sharp mind and photographic memory. When you had something you couldn’t remember or needed directions you could count on her for the answer! Shirley’s sweet and cheery disposition will be missed by many.
Those awaiting a blessed reunion include: her children, David (Renee) of Spring City, TN, Lynnette (Phillip) Priebe of Ripon, Gina (Paul) Thiesfeldt of Fond du Lac, Terri (Mark) Gauthier of Omro, Suzanne Milner, (wife of her late son Darrell) of Oshkosh, Darick (Anne) of Appleton, WI, Douglas (Jo Rae) of Berlin, Dennis of Eureka, Daniel (Heidi) of Neenah, Duane (Rikki) of Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; her sister, Cheryl Gorges; sister-in-law, Barb Christian; and special cousin, Mary Weber.
Shirley was a member of Grace Lutheran Church 720 Jackson Ave. Omro. A visitation will be on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 9:00 to11:00 a.m. at the church. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Mark Wenzel officiating. A graveside service and burial at the Allenville Cemetery will follow with a lunch served back at church after the interment.
The family would like to thank her doctors, nurses and hospice staff for their care.

Aunt Shirley, you will be missed. What a joy for all who knew you. I remember the day Uncle David, brought you to your house to announce your engagement. Your unconditional acceptance and love for family made a special impression at that time and has been joy for me ever since. Thank you for being Special. Steve
