Michael L. Will, 73, of Winneconne, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 16, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer, his beloved wife of 53 years, Joan M. (Schonscheck) Will by his side.

Born on September 16, 1951, to Arlyle (Lindemer) and Albert Will. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

A skilled carpenter by trade, Michael was also committed to organizations that reflected his passions and values; Sturgeon For Tomorrow ULC, Poygan Conservation Club, Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and American Legion Post 234, Omro.

Michael found joy in spending time with family and friends. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, sturgeon spearing, dog training, and dirt track racing with RSM Motorsports. Above all else, he cherished his role as a grandfather to Adalyn and Wyatt, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life.

He is survived by his devoted wife Joan; sons Ezra (Jennifer) Will of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and Abraham (Rebecca) Will of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren Adalyn and Wyatt; siblings Sandra (Dick) Mathison, Vicki (Howard) Luedtke, Diane Reinert, Brenda (Paul) Gerrits, Doug Will, and Jeanie (Kip) Davis; aunt Polly Lindemer; sister-in-law Irene (Jerry) Martin; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws Arnold and Myra Schonscheck; sister Mary Fisher; uncle Doug Lindemer; and sister-in-law Carol Larsen.

Visitation will be held at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne, WI on Saturday, December 28, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m., service at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Randy King. Military honors will follow the service.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate care of ThedaCare at Home Hospice staff. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are being established for Wolf River Vet Clinic and Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mike was a member of DAV Chapter 17 Winnebago County. We would like to extend our condolences to his family. He served with great honor and was a true warrior. Salute!
