Elizabeth "Liz" June (Hansen) Anderson

06/11/1935 - 02/17/2018

Elizabeth "Liz" June (Hansen) Anderson, age 82, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, went home to God on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at The Waterford of Oshkosh. She was born June 11, 1935, in Blue River, Wisconsin, to Weggo and Edna (Maurer) Hansen. Liz graduated from Winneconne High School and attended UW-Madison for pre-nursing courses before returning to Oshkosh to marry Eugene Anderson. They lived on the Anderson homestead farm just south of Larsen, Wisconsin and were blessed with five children, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Liz loved to decorative paint, and blessed many lives with her folk art works. Her largest accomplishment was the mural, "Children of the World", which is still on display at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester.
Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, were the light of her life. Liz enjoyed traveling across the USA to spend time with them, when possible.
Fall football season was her favorite; she loved her Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers-Go, Pack, Go!! She also loved to attend events for her children and grandchildren, to cheer them on. Liz enjoyed a good competitive game of Monopoly, Scrabble, or card games. She had a passion for reading, and telling stories about Rufus the squirrel.
Her giving heart and love of God were the greatest gift she gave to all. She always put others first, would go the extra step to make sure things worked out for everyone. Liz always had a smile on her face, and approached life with a positive attitude.
Surviving Elizabeth are five children and their families, Philip and Mary Anderson, of Houston, Texas, and their daughter, Rachel; Judy Klusman, of Salisbury, North Carolina, and sons, Charlie (Amanda), great-granddaughter, Eleanor, of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; and James (Heather), great-grandson Finn, of Half Moon Bay, California; Paul and Tammy Anderson, of Perry, Michigan, and their daughters, Ashley and Amy; Ellen and Bill Pitsch, of Larsen, and their sons, Christopher (Gina), great-granddaughter, Zoey, and Joe (Becca) West Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Susan and Paul Patenaude, of Seminole, Florida, and their children, Bryce and Brianna; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Anderson; and siblings, Genevieve Netz, Doris Rector, Wilma Meyer, and Ernest Hansen.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester 8396 Steeple Hill Dr., Larsen, Wisconsin. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Connie Bramlett officiating. Following the service burial will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery and after the burial a meal/gathering/celebration of life will be held in the dining hall at church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
Liz's family extends special thanks to the staff at The Waterford of Oshkosh, for providing great care in a loving environment for the past 2 years.

I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to all of you. My family moved next door to Eugene and Liz when I was in first grade. My memories of shucking fresh peas from the garden,to herding heifers from one pasture to the next, playing Red Light Green Light in her front yard with her children to sledding down the big hill in the woods, these are memories she help build for me and my siblings. Thank You for that,Liz. Sincerely,Judy Janz

So very sorry to hear about Liz's passing. We all grew up together in Winchester and Grace Lutheran Church. My parents bought Weggo's gas station and building next door by June Thompson. My folks turned the store into a liquor store and ran the gas station. Judy was a very good friend to my sister Debbie Fenner. She and Eugene are now together in God's loving care. Sincere sympathy.

This wonderful, thoughtful lady was our neighbor for many years. We know she took great pride in her family. During her visits with us on Short Road we were updated on the lives of her family and what the squirrels were up to in her yard. Liz made the best cookies and caramel corn, sharing with our family at Halloween time and for no special occasion at all! Liz loved nature and enjoyed walking our country roads from time to time. We believe she enjoyed her life to the fullest and would not have changed one thing. She is in Gods loving arms and at peace. God bless you Liz and blessings to your entire family always!
