On Thursday, January 2, 2025, we lost a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa; a creative and ambitious man; a skilled farmer and woodworker; a humble, dedicated servant at his church who loved the Lord. Art was born February 2, 1937, to Fred and Eleanor (Posorske) Busse. The Busse family has owned their farm since 1903 where Art lived his entire life. He passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his own home.

Art attended the one room West Grade School, which now resides on his property and became a home for his projects and workmanship. He was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Oshkosh and graduated from Omro High School.

On January 31, 1959, he married the love of his life, Eileen Kumm, at Zion Lutheran Church. Art farmed his entire life along with his father Fred, and his two brothers, Lawrence and Earl, who formed a farming corporation in 1959, which was ahead of the time in this area by joining their farms to build one of the first milking parlors in Winnebago County. This proudly became Fred Busse and Sons family farm.

After retirement, Art and Eileen combined their talents and skills where Art cut out wood designs and Eileen painted their creations to be sold at craft shows. Art managed a fruitful garden for eating, canning and freezing to share and enjoy throughout the year, and found many of his late years embracing trips to their woods to cut and split wood with his homemade splitter for his furnace. His creativity and ingenuity led to some remarkable accomplishments; lowering their barn with the help of his grandson Aaron, rebuilding a TD-9 caterpillar, building a staircase to the top of their silo, as well as making all of the wood furnishings in the house he built for himself. If it broke, he fixed it.

Art and Eileen are survived by his two children, Keven (Debbie) Busse, Allen (Jennie) Busse; his five grandchildren, Aaron Busse, Kyle (Alli) Busse, Alissa (Dustin) Bui, Andrew Busse, Sophia Busse; and his three great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Isla Busse, and Benny Bui.

Preceding Art in death were his wife, Eileen Busse; his parents, Fred and Eleanor Busse; brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Dolores; brother, Earl Busse; sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Robert Prochnow; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Lydia Kumm; sister-in-law Diann.

A visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with service at 1:00 and lunch to follow at Zion Lutheran Church, 5355 Co Rd K, Oshkosh. Burial will be on Friday, January 10, 9:00 a.m. at the Omro Cemetery. Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne is assisting the family. If you wish, please submit online condolences/memories to muellerfh.net.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are being established for Zion Lutheran Church, Oshkosh and Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Fond du Lac.

Art was a classmate of mine at Omro High School and it was interesting to be able to visit with him at subsequent "Class of 1955" reunions. I last had an opportunity to visit with him at the Class Reunion in October of last year and really enjoyed our conversation. I will remember Art as a kind and pleasant person.
