Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Beverly “Bev” Ann Ellison, 71, of Omro, was called to her heavenly home February 3, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Bev was born in Oelwein, Iowa June 20, 1953, the daughter of Loraine and Edna (Reiter) Hamlow. She married Rodney Ellison on August 11, 1973.
Bev grew up on an Iowa farm around numerous animals and she loved them all. When her parents let her have her first horse, her attention was drawn to horses and equestrian activities throughout her life.
She attended Fredericksburg Community School in Fredericksburg, Iowa where she graduated in 1971. From there she attended Hawkeye Institute of Technology in Waterloo Iowa where she was trained as a nurse. That training led her to a 40 plus year career in hospitals and clinics.
Bev is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Rodney; daughter, Ann Ellison; son, Adam (Crissy) Ellison, both of Omro; sisters, Doris (Willis) Sauerbrei, of Ames, Iowa; Helen Lee, of Tripoli, Iowa; and countless nieces, nephews and faithful friends.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Loraine and Edna; and brother-in-law, Romaine (Helen) Lee.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Medical Center – Oshkosh Intensive Care Unit for their dedication and compassion toward our beloved wife and mother, Bev.
Mueller Funeral Home-Winneconne is assisting the family. If you wish, please submit online condolences/memories to muellerfh.net.

Heaven may have gained an angel but those of us left behind have lost an incredible friend. Bev’s bubbly personality and quick wit brightened anyone’s day for those lucky enough to have known her. She was an incredible horsewoman, ready and willing to share her knowledge and passion for anything equine. She was also a great quilter. We took a class together once laughing so much it was amazing we got anything accomplished. I remember her calling many years later to say she finally finished it, that a masterpiece takes time. Her life was full of masterpieces. You, my friend, will be missed but never forgotten!
