Kay Peterson, age 86, of Winneconne, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at The Residence of Oshkosh. She was born November 30, 1938, to Theodore and Ruth (Dennis) Finch. Kay was a 1957 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School in Menasha. Kay married Gene Peterson, the love of her life, on May 1, 1964. Gene and Kay lived most of their life together in the Town of Winchester. She worked as an accountant at American Can, Neenah for over 30 years. Kay was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and attended many of their activities. She had many friends that she enjoyed going to breakfast and lunch with. She especially enjoyed all the shenanigans with her sister-in-law and BFF, Bonny Borchert.

She is survived by her two children, Jon (Fran) Peterson and Lori (Mark) Hecker; five grandchildren, Jordan (Aspen) Hecker, Lauren (Caleb) Hunt, Dylan (Abbie) Hecker, Kyle (Hannah) Peterson, Austin Hecker (girlfriend Rachel); and great-grandchildren, Aleah, Landon, and Benson Hunt, Sophie and Bodie Peterson, and Mari, Crew and Birkley Hecker.

She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Sandy Finch, Lou Seelow, and Karen Angell; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Ted Finch; and many other relatives.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A private graveside service will be held at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Winchester.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at The Residence of Oshkosh, Heartland Hospice, and Lakeland Care staff.

If you wish, please submit online condolences/memories to muellerfh.net.
