Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Shawn “Gumby” Russell Schleicher, beloved husband and father, devoted friend, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 51. He was born on January 4, 1974, to the late Russell Schleicher and Ronda Marquardt. He is survived by his wife, Jaycee Schleicher; children, Emily (Carter), Madelyn (Devin), Caleigh Schleicher, Jevon Wilson (Bella), and Jaycheevada “Javey” Valssaint; and grandson, Jameson Shawn Ervin. He is also survived by mother, Ronda Marquardt; and sister, Kelly (Jason) Dahse and family.
He was a 1992 graduate of Winneconne High School. Born with an adventurous spirit and a quiet strength, Shawn proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying the values of honor, loyalty, and selflessness throughout his life. Those same values shined through in his daily life, whether he was offering a helping hand to a friend or stopping to help a stranger without hesitation.
He was a jack of all trades, working in many different fields over the years making many lifelong friendships. A man whose heart was as generous as his laugh was loud, Shawn leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and creativity that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Shawn had a deep passion for the simple joys in life, a longtime bowling enthusiast and hitting the lanes with friends. His love for art was evident in his sketchbooks that revealed his thoughtful, often tender outlook on the world. He had a soft spot for the glamour and timeless beauty of Marilyn Monroe and the feisty attitude of Harley Quin. A poker night with friends brought out his competitive yet fun-loving side, where laughter and good stories always outweighed the stakes on the table.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 at the funeral home. Military honors will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help with funeral costs.
