Where Caring Is A Family Tradition
Maxine C. Reese, age 88, of Larsen died on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at her home. She was born on August 10, 1936, the daughter of the late Vernon and Virginia (Eckstein) Mathison. Maxine graduated from Winneconne High School. On November 12, 1955, Maxine married John "Jack" Reese at Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester. Together they loved attending the Kentucky Derby for over 35 years. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2009. Maxine worked for First National Bank of Neenah (now Associated Bank) and then was employed as a secretary for the Neenah Foundry for many years. Maxine was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Neenah where she was part of the prayer chain. She enjoyed putting puzzles together as well as doing crossword puzzles.
Maxine is survived by three children, Randy Reese, Neenah; Cindy (Rick) Kemp, Neenah; and Lynn (Terry) Haase, Neenah; grandchildren, Jessica Kemp, Joseph (Nichole) Kemp, Ryan (Trisha) Haase, Rebecca Mueller, Jennifer (Jeremy) Case and Christina Reese; great-grandchildren, Kyle (Rachel) Kemp, Kyra Vande Burgt, Alexis and Parker Haase, Gibson, Frehley and Marshall Mueller, John Case, Evangeline and Eliot Kemp; four brothers, Roydon Mathison, Melvin Mathison, Richard "Dick" (Sandy) Mathison and Doug (Kathy) Mathison; a brother-in-law, Charles "Buzz" (Kay) Reese; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John" Jack"; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Adele Mathison, Georgianne "Babe" and Tom Jensen, Bob Reese.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1140 Tullar Rd., Neenah, with Pastor Tabitha Gallatin officiating. Burial will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
