Walter “Wally” Robert Wucki, 77, of Omro, WI, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, August 1, 2025. He was born on August 12, 1947, in Neillsville, WI to Robert and Lillian (Habal) Wucki. He married Patricia Schultz on June 15, 1968 in Neillsville, WI. Wally and Patty were high school sweethearts who recently celebrated their 57th anniversary.

Wally served in the Army during the Vietnam era stationed in Germany. Pat was able to join him there and they traveled to many countries in Europe. He then worked 38 years at Oshkosh Truck as a Sr. Lab Tech, especially proud of his contribution to the Striker, a huge airport snowblower. He made many work buddies, and took the phrase “Whistle while you work” to the extreme. Wally knew how to fix just about anything, and he built numerous projects over the years from trellises to playhouses to cabinetry. He even built a stage for his little granddaughters to tap dance on. The biggest project was when Wally and Pat built their home of 43 years in rural Omro. They have always thought of this as their paradise on earth, spending countless hours developing gardens and woodland trails and teaching their children the value of hard work. Wally enjoyed chain-sawing and splitting wood for the winter woodpile each year as much as he loved to bow and gun hunt during deer season. His favorite things were his Ford Jubilee tractor, Yamaha snowmobile trips up North, riding his Gold Wing to work most months of the year, and camping around a bonfire with an Old Fashioned. In later years, they took many trips throughout the United States with Route 66 and the Great River Road being their favorites. They always dreamed of returning to Anna Maria Island, FL and the Finger Lakes region, NY.

He is survived by his wife, Patty Wucki; and their three children, Tim (Michelle) Wucki, Jessica (David) McMullin, and Jason (Jennifer) Wucki; sister, Irene (Bob) Linstedt; grandchildren, Lillian and Katherine McMullin, Colton and Taylor Wucki; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joan Tesch, Dianne (Ray) Shreve, John (Diane) Schultz, and Tony (Mary) Schultz; nieces and nephews Paula Linstedt, Matt (Vicki) Falcone, Denice Falcone, Brian Falcone, Julie Tesch, Annette DeYoung, and Eric (Melissa) Schultz; and numerous cousins and good friends.

A visitation for family and friends will take place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave. Omro, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Winneconne Cemetery.

Pat and Wally were my neighbors growing up and they were always so kind. Every year at Halloween they would get the jumbo candy bars for me and my brother. I always loved going to the Wucki’s house:) It was such a blessing to know Mr. Wucki. My condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Our heartfelt love, support and sympathy - your dad, grandpa sounds like he was one very special man - hardworking, fun & loving each day and his family. I remember Colton telling me about going to Grandpa's place and how he looked forward to it. I am so sorry he had to leave this earth early - my heart goes out to all of you May you know our Savior and how much He loves you and loved your dad. Keeping you in our prayers, Love you, Dan & Cathy Braund

I am sorry to hear about the loss of Wally. The hope now is that the family will find peace going forward. It doesn’t need to be said that Wally was one of the good ones.

Wally was such a special man. A loving husband, father and grandfather. I have many fond memories that bring a smile to my face when thinking of Wally, Pat, and their family. My condolences to each of you. Rest in peace, Wally!
