Douglas A. Doornek, age 77, of Town of Wolf River, passed away on September 10, 2025, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. He was born in Milwaukee a son of Ambrose and Marion Doornek. He worked at Continental Canning in Milwaukee and in 2006 moved to the Town of Wolf River to enjoy his favorite hobbies of hunting and fishing. 

Doug is survived by his dear life partner of 43 years, Lorna O’Leary; his mother, Marion Doornek Greuel; his siblings, Carol (Patrick) Sullivan, Tess (Ray) Schwartz, Kathy (Gary) Kurtz, David (Rhonda) Greuel, Joe Greuel; uncle, James Marx; step-children, Timothy O’Leary, Tara O’Leary Hughes; grandchildren, Koda O’Leary and Timothy O’Leary, both of whom he was very proud; and many other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Ambrose; his step-father, Eloy Greuel; and brothers, Gerald Doornek and Jeff Greuel. 

Per Doug's wishes no services will be held. Mueller Funeral Home-Winneconne is assisting the family. 

Miss me but let me go when I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me. For this is a Journey we all must take and each must go alone a step on the road Home. Miss me but let me go!
