Amy Jo Buech passed away peacefully at the age of 55 in her home
in Menasha.
She
was born February 3, 1970, to Gerald Buech and Nancy (Kohanski) Buech in
Neenah. Amy grew up in Menasha, spending summers in Poygan. As a child, she
attended Banta Elementary where she met some lifelong friends. For junior high
school, she attended Butte Des Morts. During
her high school days, Amy played volleyball and was also a cheerleader. She was
in class of ’88 at Menasha High School. Amy received many certificates
necessary to further her career as a cook and later as a CNA. Amy enjoyed
working at Manderfield’s Home Bakery for several years.
Not
quite fresh out of high school, Amy met Jon R. Beck, and they instantly hit it
off. After a brief bit of running away to Texas, they came back home and not
too long after, Shaed was born. Amy and Jon were married from 2000-2013, but their
romance lasted over two decades. The memories of their love shine brightly in Shaed’s
eyes when he recalls moments here and there growing up in that Menasha house.
Amy
loved spending her summers at the family cottage in Poygan. She was the life of
any party. If Amy was there, smiles and laughter followed. She had unwavering
strength and courage. Always willing to lend a helping hand. Amy loved horseback
riding, painting and all the colorful things, which showed in her more than
colorful personality. Amy had a passion for cooking, whether it was for work or
for home, if she wasn’t outside, she was in the kitchen. Amy took great pride
in helping cater family get togethers. At home, she loved to experiment with
recipes, and while not all turned out, they made for great stories. In more
recent years she enjoyed the quiet peacefulness of her home but never turned
down an opportunity to go on an adventure.
Amy
is survived by her son, Shaed Buech; three grandchildren, Adilynn Cobb-Buech,
Hunter Buech, and Aspen Buech; her two sisters, Chris (Steve) Brown and Lori
(Jim) Imlay; nine nieces and nephews; and many extended relatives and friends.
Amy
was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald R. Buech and Nancy A. (Kohanski)
Buech; and by Jon R. Beck.
