My aunt Mary was one of a kind - a beautiful, graceful, elegant, spiritual, and caring person. As a young girl and later on as a young woman, I marveled at her sophistication and elegant taste - I'd see her at the many family occasions and she would always go out of her way to speak to everyone. She would make you feel so special. She was a wonderful role model. Aunt Mary took diligent care of my uncle Al when his health failed. A true shining star who made everyone's life she touched a little brighter.

I had a conversation with Grandma Broehm several years ago that brings great comfort to me at this time. In that conversation she indicated her trust and belief in Jesus as her Savior. What comfort that is at a time like this, because we have the promise of God that those who believe in Jesus as their Savior will be with him for all eternity. We will miss grandma and my condolences to all, I wish I could be there. Following are words of a song that bring great comfort. In particular the verse that says "For I am his and he is mine" what a promise from God. Then we have the promise in the following verse "no fear in death" In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my light, my strength, my song; This cornerstone, this solid ground, Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What height of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my all in all, Here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone-who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe. This gift of love and righteousness, Scorned by the ones he came to save. Till on that cross, as Jesus died, The wrath of God satisfied; For every sin on him was laid. Here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground his body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain; then bursting forth in glorious day Up from the grave he rose again! And as he stands in victory, Sin's curse has lost its grip on me. For I am his and he is mine-Bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, This is the power of Christ in me; From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man Can ever pluck me from his hand; Till he returns or calls me home, Here in the power of Christ I stand. Praise be to God! He brought Grandma Home!

Mary Broehm was the epitome of beauty, strength and wisdom. I only had the pleasure of her company a few times but her legacy is measured by the wonderful family she has left behind.

Mary was an awesome woman. I had the pleasure of taking care of her at Aspirus Lillian Kerr in Phelps, and I can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt, I will never forget her. Mary will be missed and I know that heaven is a little more brighter with Mary there. To Mary's daughters I want to say that I am very sorry that your all going through this time, but do keep thinking of all the wonderful years your mother has touched and blessed you.

What can you all say about a grandmother who taught us all so much? You taught us how to work hard, how to care for each other, how an education matters, how to have fun,the meaning of family and so much more. I just wonder what hat you are wearing right now and how you are enjoying the golf courses in Heaven? Thanks for all you taught us and we will miss you here on Earth. It will be with joy and fond memories that I celebrate your 96 years on this planet with the great family you have left behind. Love you, Dave.
