Mary K. (La Breche) Darwin, 71, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, April 12, 2018, after a brief illness.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Dorothy La Breche; and her twin who died at birth; grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her aunt, Dorothy Crego, of Winneconne; cousins, Claire Clasen, John and Robert Markham, all of Virginia; and many other cousins. Mary had many special friends. Those who saw Mary through her illness are: Ann Nygren, Joan Sievert, Joann and Ron Borchardt. Those who cared for Mary through thoughts and prayers: her "Little Sister," Merrie Pionke, of Maryland; Linda and Gary Gobeyn, of Arkansas; John and Janice Andrews, of Chilton.
Mary loved her Lord. She dedicated herself to learning God's Word seeking to know Him better through studying His Word and listening to Christian music and talk radio. Mary would take in stray cats. She felt a strong calling to protect animals that needed love and care. Gardening was another interest. We often saw Mary outside tending to her gardens.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, April 20, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St., Winneconne. The funeral will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dan Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at the Rushford Cemetery.
A memorial in Mary's name will be set up for the Oshkosh Animal Shelter.
Many thanks to the staffs of Juliette Manor Nursing Home, Berlin and Agnesian Hospice Hope for the loving care they gave to Mary.

Although I know Mary is in a good place , it is hard to see her gone so soon. I will miss being able to visit and share stories of family and pets. God bless.
