Robert W. Armstrong, age 79, of Winchester, died peacefully early Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at his home. He was born August 16, 1930, the eldest son of Earle and Irene (Hoyman) Armstrong. Robert attended Winneconne Schools. In 1948 he married Gloria Anunson. Robert was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester. For 40 years he worked at Kimberly-Clark in Neenah, and in his retirement he was one of the smiling clerks greeting customers for Allen's Allenville Sweetcorn at the Neenah Farmer's Market every Saturday morning. Robert was a long time member of Winchester Hills Golf Course, where he got his hole-in-one. Robert and Gloria traveled extensively and loved following all of the grandchildren's sports and interests.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Gloria; his four daughters, Gail (Mike) Hofberger, of Chilton; Becky Ryf, of Oshkosh; Christine (Russell) Allen, of Winneconne; and Terri (Randall) Kasuboski, of Winneconne; Robert had six grandchildren, Jason (Koran) Ryf, of Oshkosh; Jess (Sarah) Hofberger, of Germany; Molly (Karl) Haffele, of Madison; Tyler Kasuboski, of Oshkosh; Celia (Ryan) Zeinert, of Sun Prairie; and Ross Allen, of Madison. He had one great-grandson, Hans Robert Haffele, and he will have twin great-grandsons in July of this year. He had one step-great-grandson, Mike Waltenberry. Robert had one sister, Peggy Searle, of Fond du Lac; two brothers, Bruce (Nancy) Armstrong, of Neenah; Larry (Sue) Armstrong, of DePere. His aunt, Zelpha Armstrong, of Oshkosh also survives. Robert is also survived by a sister-in-law, Janice Hoger, of Winneconne; and a brother-in-law, Bruce (Marilyn) Anunson, of Neenah; Robert is survived additionally by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Hesston Rush Allen.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2010, at 3:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, Larsen, Wisconsin, with Pastor Jon Gallatin officiating. Inurnment will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
A luncheon will follow the service.
A memorial will be established in his name.

Chris and family, we are so sorry for you loss. Your dad was a wonderful person and accomplished so much in his lifetime. I know Hesston is thrilled to be with his grandpa now and I'm sure those two will be causing quite a stir together. Be strong and we love you dearly.
