Ninabelle R. Harper, age 94, of Winneconne, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. She was born March 21, 1915 in Ringle, Wisconsin to the late Anton and Beatrice (Iper) Peterson. On April 23, 1949 Nena married Walter Harper at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne and they made their home in Winneconne their entire married lifetime. Nena and Wally traveled all of the continental United States and Hawaii, and she especially enjoyed her trips to the casino, and watching and attending NASCAR races. Nena loved gardening, canning, camping, and growing flowers. She was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Winneconne, where she was a member of the Women's Guild. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the AAL Branch 33.
Nena is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Ronald Lueschen, of White Lake; Cheryl and Donald Amann, of Greenfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Mary Harper, Randall and Pauline Harper, all of Winneconne. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Kenneth and Pam Markert, Darren and Kim Markert, Michelle and Chad VanGompel, David and Jenny Harper, Rebecca and Sarah Amann, Melinda and Joe Kallenberger, Michael and Eric Harper, Ellen and Ashley Graham; ten great-grandchildren whom she enjoyed playing cards and canning pears with; Samuel and Kendall Markert, Zakary and Mitchell Markert, Nathan and Adam Laeyendecker, Bailee, Sanibel, and Bingham Harper, Treyson Graham; one brother, one sister, two sisters-in-law, and two brothers-in-law, Charles and Marion Peterson, of Appleton; Verna Messman, of Appleton; Janice and Elmer Hoest, of Prescott Valley, Arizona; Leslie Johansen, of Townsend; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Nena was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wally; and twelve brothers and sisters.
A Funeral Service for Nena will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth St., Winneconne, with Pastor Mark Albrecht officiating. Burial will follow in the Winneconne Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church.

You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I could be there. I will always think of Aunt Nena laughing,having fun and just being so full of life. I can't picture her any other way. I have such great memories of her. God bless all of you.
