Audrey Jean Bartelt, age 91, of Oshkosh, died Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh. She was born May 3, 1927, in Winneconne to the late Burt and Audrey (Bacon) Abell. Jeannie was a 1945 graduate of Winneconne High School. On October 25, 1947, she married Richard Bartelt at Trinity Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. Jeannie had worked at Boston Store, Hrnak's Flowerland, and for 17 years at Trinity Lutheran School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, its Dorcas Circle, and for 60 years sang in the church choir. Jeannie enjoyed putting together puzzles, playing cards, bowling, and butterflies.
Jeannie is survived by her husband of almost 71 years, Richard Bartelt, of Oshkosh; four children, Ken (Rita) Bartelt, of Oshkosh; Rick (Jay Jean) Bartelt, of Florida; Donn (Linda) Bartelt, of Oshkosh; Lori (Mark) Flemming, of Missouri; grandchildren, Shalyn Bartelt, Shane Bartelt, Nick (Junko) Bartelt, Jessica Bartelt, Libbi (Matthew) Johnson, Micah Bartelt, Jack Flemming, Jed Flemming, Meg Flemming; great-grandchildren, Adele Bartelt, Imogen Johnson; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with her parents, Audrey was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Bartelt; a great-grandson, Benedict Johnson; and her sister, Mary Mathe.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, October 8, 2018, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church 370 Bowen St. Oshkosh. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Ronald Meier officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Evergreen (Creekside Rehabilitation Center) in Oshkosh, Davita Dialysis in Oshkosh, and Plantation Dialysis in Florida for the outstanding care they provided Jeannie.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Jeannie's name.
