Cheryl Ann Fischer, age 59, of Larsen, died Monday, October 15, 2018, peacefully at home after a 7-year battle with cancer. She was born July 16, 1959, in Kaukauna to Robert and Janet (Zastrow) Derks. On October 21, 1977, Cheryl married Ervin Fischer at Holy Angels Church in Darboy. For many years Cheryl and Erv have been foster parents to numerous children. She was a member of Community Church, Oshkosh.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of almost 41 years, Ervin Fischer Sr., of Larsen; children, Melissa Fischer, of Royalton, and children Ethan, Jennifer, Greyson, and Steven; Ervin Jr. (Bonnie) Fischer, of Oshkosh, and children Joey Fischer, RayAnn, Toby, and Evan Martin; Stefanie (Justin) Zoellick, of Clintonville, and children Calleigh, Parker, Clara, and Cordelia; Milo (Natalie) Fischer, of Hilbert, and children Megan and Alex LaMere; Priscilla Fischer, of Larsen, and son Jason; Wyett Fischer, of Royalton; Kevin Fischer, of Larsen; Dauntah Fischer, of Larsen; her parents, Janet Wolfinger, of Hortonville; Robert Derks, of Lakewood; two sisters and a brother, Patty (Herman) Griesbach, of Appleton; Kathy (Jack) Balke, of Neenah; Rick (Julie) Derks, of Appleton; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding Cheryl in death were her stepfather, Carl Wolfinger; a sister-in-law, Barb Derks; and a stepbrother, Rob Wolfinger.
A visitation will be on Friday, October 19, 2018, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Community Church 2351 Ryf Rd. Oshkosh. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Karl Kramer officiating. Cheryl's request is that no one dress in formal attire please. Cremation will follow.
The family wishes to thank ThedaCare at Home Hospice, especially nurses Paige, Joleen, and Amber; as well as Dr. Ray, Dr. Schmidt, and Froedtert doctors Charlson and King for all of the care and concern shown to Cheryl.

I went to high school with Cheryl, but it wasn't until the past 10 years or so that I really connected with her. Cheryl & Erv were our inspiration to become foster parents. Cheryl's generous spirit was infectious....she was a real light in the world, & that light carries on.....
