Dorothy Tetzke, age 88, of Neenah, passed away from complications of Advanced Alzheimer's on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Valley VNA in Neenah, where she has been residing for the past 5 years.
She was born in Neenah on April 30, 1930, to the late Olaf and Laura (Koepke) Hansen. Dorothy was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah. She was a 1948 graduate of Neenah High School. On September 22, 1950, Dorothy married Norman Tetzke at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah. Through the years, Dorothy had been employed with Grant's Department Store in the Valley Fair Mall, Appleton, and with Miles Kimball until her retirement.
Dorothy and Norman enjoyed traveling, taking a trip to Alaska in 1988, and for 21 years they spent their winters in Yuma, Arizona. She enjoyed camping, ballroom dancing, playing cards and bingo, singing, and doing cross-stitch.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Steve Eake, of Neenah; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Kristin Tetzke, of Germantown; five grandchildren, Nicole (Kip) Ewald, Scott Eake, Tara (Michael) Korsmeyer, Lauren Tetzke, and Madeline Tetzke; one great-granddaughter, Taegen Baird; one brother-in-law, Herbert Tetzke, Jr.; and three nephews.
Along with her parents, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman, on August 2, 2012; an infant sister in 1934, Laverne Hansen; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert, Sr. and Albia Tetzke; and a sister-in-law, Linda Tetzke.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Borth United Methodist Church, W304 Cty Rd D, Berlin. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Becky Kindschi officiating. Burial will be in the Borth Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for the Borth United Methodist Church in Dorothy's name.
