Ernest Ray Kandler, age 76, of Oshkosh, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born November 24, 1933, in New Holstein to the late Herman and Renata (Maile) Kandler. On September 11, 1954, Ernest married Betty Ann Dedering in Kiel.
Ernie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Ann Kandler; three children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren: daughter, Karen Overton, granddaughter, Jennifer (Joe) Berg, and their children Justin, Jordan, and Jessica; granddaughter, Rebecca (Marvin) Mills, and son Wyatt; grandson, Matthew Overton; daughter, Renata (Bob) Bacon, and grandson, Robert; son, Ken (Laurie) Kandler, and grandchildren, Nikolaus and Mercedes; sister-in-law, Ilene Pederson; and nephews, Dan, Jim, and Bob (Sue) Pederson, and their families.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth St. Winneconne, with Pastor Mark Albrecht officiating. Inurnment will be in the New Holstein Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Betty, Karen, Renata & Ken: Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you....the memories will live on (most of them involve a laugh and/or smile). I think dad lost his dearest friend - the person, aside from mom, who was always there in good times (way many good times) and bad. God bless you all!
